Bluetooth music streaming keeps dropping

I have a Nexus 6P and lately the audio keeps dropping in my car (also tried with my wireless earbuds and same problem). The phone itself stays connected and I can make calls through it in the car, but music just keeps dropping. When I cycle airplane mode and/or bluetooth, it will connect, but sometimes it stays and other times it drops immediately. Anyone aware of any fixes for this?
 
This seems to be a common problem with the 6P. What car system/head unit and what monthly version on the 6P (unless you've swapped ROMs/rooted)?

FWIW, I've never had any issues with my 6P and Ford's MyFordTouch (SYNC 2)

2015 Corolla and I'm using the latest update. This started with the April update and was hoping May's would fix it for me. No luck though 🙁
 
Doubtful it's your car, especially since you also have headphone problems. Probably a warranty issue. Good luck.
