BlueTooth Headset - which brands are good? which brands to avoid?

i heard good things about the bt250 from jabra

i have the hs 820

i have also had the cardo scala 500, a little uncomfortable at times but very good in loud enviroments, clear sound

my next one will be the H5 miniblue from moto

Plantronics 510

Trust me.

I have tried the Motos and they all suck. They never stay on your ear.

I have a very early motorola model, and it sucks... it sounds like you are talking under-water

I currently use a logitech, and that works fine, no compliants...

i like my logitech alot - not the most ergonomic or aesthetically pleasing model, but really can't complain as the sound is great

ok i have tried both the motorola h500 and plantronics 320 but they both seem to have a lot of interference and i can only walk about 10' away from the phone. is this normal? the sound quality is that of when you are nearly out of range with your cordless headset, this is a real disappointment....

what phone are you using them with? do you have access to another bluetooth phone to test the headsets?

i've had the same one for about 18 months now. it's very sturdy and it works.

sure it doesn't look the greatest but i'd rather have one that doesn't look good but works well vs one that looks good but is all staticky (motos tend to be that way for me).

Yarr in every man's hand a cutlass, and on every tongue a song of Blue Tooth, the most fearsome pirate on the seven seas!

ok, maybe i am expecting too much. what i want is the same audio quality that i would get from a corded headset within a 10' radius of the phone (bt 1.2 says it can go 10M). i can go to bestbuy and buy as many as i want and return the ones that don't work, but to be honest, are there any headsets that do what i want? if yes, are there any for less than $100?

I have the Plantronics 320 and love it. Great battery life and I have been 20 ft from my phone with excellent reception.
Stays in the ear better unlike the Motos

i wish the one i have right now was like that, but even if the phone is within arms reach i still have static. and this with the plantronics 320....

wow. talk about varied responses. I say set up a poll with the most popular brands/models

i would but each brand has about 5-7 different models...

went to best buy today and bought 4 more. a motorola h700, motorola hs850, jabra bt250v and a jabra bt800. so now i have tested 6 models. looks like i am going with the jabra bt800 for my wife and i am going just a wired headset.

the reason for the jabra bt800 choice was the ease of use vs the others. my wife is not a techie so the others were kind of a pain in the a$$, plus the fact that you can charge from a usb port is big plus, 1 less charger for her to take on a biz trip.

with the bt800 i could get about 10' and then started to hear crackling. this was the clearest of them all.

my wife is a doo for a cosmetic surgeon/med spa team so she has to "represent", for me i can't justify the cost for the quality on any of the units, thus the reason i am keeping it ol' skool with the wired one.

bt items need to up their power or give the users the option of upping the power at the sacrifice of battery length, maybe put a little red led on it when the batt is @ 10% or so, something....

hope this thread helps somebody out and saves them some time 🙂
