Bluetooth hacking question

So someone asked about securing their smartphone from a Bluetooth hack on another forum I'm a member of. I found a few Linux programs and Backtrack can hack Bluetooth as well. I also found an App called Bluetooth Firewall for Android.

So I was wondering if anyone skilled in Linux can tell me if this App really works by trying to hack their own device.

Does this App just give a warning or does it block hack attemps in the background?

It appears this App just gives a notification that something wants access to Bluetooth.
