Hi!

I was wondering if the bluetooth system, wich I don't know very much, can be used at home without any trouble. I have seen dongle for sale, wich are not very expensive and I tought that it woulc be cool to share to computer without cable in such a simple way! Is there a catch?

Welcome to the Network Forum.

If it states in the Data sheet that these Dongles are Special Devices that are Ethernet compatible it might work. CompUSA sell Bluetooth USB Network device for $29.90

Bluetooth in general is a Cord replacement to, Mice, Keyboard, and other peripheral; it did not mean to be networked. The device like the mentioned above is mainly sold to allow devices like PDA that already have Bluetooth client to communicate to an existing Network.

So if you buy Bluetooth device you end up that it can not communicate with regular Wireless and can not be extended to a larger or more elaborate Network.

You can get two little 801.11b USB Wireless devices, and connet two computer in AD-Hoc mode.

Marketing ploys are Funny in our days, since the same CompUSA has on sale 8021.11b USB wireless for $4.99 after rebate.
