I recently built a PC, installing a legit and new OEM version of windows 8.
Not that it would matter but for the record, it is an MSI motherboard, with an i5 chip.
The keyboard I have requires bluetooth, so I purchased an adapter. The adapter I purchased is the Rocketfish Bluetooth RF-MRBTAD (providing bluetooth 2.1 connectivity)
When I attempt to install the software, holding the drivers I assume/hope, located here (http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php) as well as the CD that came with the Rocketfish adapter, I get a compatibility issue:
"Broadcom bluetooth software"
"software for this device has been blocked becuase it might prevent your PC from starting correctly in the future"
With this exact same device, I was able to use the keyboard last week without a problem. Well, for a moment, before the apple keyboard I use decided to show issues but I only hope to get the the point I was at then, working software and failed keyboard connectivity.
I have searched for problems with this device, and as others found helpful, I ran it as admin, I changed the properties to work for xp sp3, and every other listed OS option to see what would work, none worked and windows 8 (advertised by this products wrapping) was not listed in the drop down menu.
Anyways. I looked under my programs to uninstall any bluetooth programs and there is nothing, nothing for me to remove, restart, and allow a fresh install of this software.
I did days ago install motionjoy for games and my ps3 controller, which was able to talk to my ps3 controller via bluetooth, but I was unable to completely set the controller up as well.
Basically, having sh*t luck with bluetooth, which I assumed would be simply plugging the small usb device in, and installing drivers.
So here I am, wondering why my computer claims this device can't install because it will effect my PC's start up process, and how to bipass whatever I must, inorder to use this clearly working hardware adapter, with its assumed useful software counterparts.
