I am a computer guy, but little knowledge of bluetooth gadgets. I have to get a hands free bluetooth for my car because the new law in NewHampshire says so. I got a motorola roadster 2 car kit speakerphone, which seems ok quality, but I cant get my phone to receive incoming calls from cell phones

My phone is a flip phone, LG Revere N150, probably 3 to 4 years old now. Still works fine as a phone, so no need to get the latest

* I can call out ok
* I can answer a call if its from a land line
* If its an incoming call from a cell or iphone, as soon as the bluetooth starts saying "Call from ***-****", my phone goes into a reboot - the display changes to the startup splash screen, and the bluetooth says "Disconnected".

I tried a friend's bluetooth speaker and at first it seemed to work with my phone, and now several times it has done the same thing - incoming call from a cell phone causes my phone to reboot

Ever hear of such a thing? Is there maybe some setting on either the phone or the bluetooth(s) that I dont know about? I hate to try to solve this by buying a new phone or a series of bluetooths. I have found nothing on Google about anything like this

thanks!

Well this is interesting - after several dead-end attempts to get support from Motorola, I got someone who asked if the incoming calls were from numbers that are in my contact list. They are!!!

I took my wife's phone number out of Contacts and now she can call me ok on the bluetooth.

How weird is that???

So it may be a choice between having my regular contacts listed or not having a bluetooth device work with my phone. Or maybe a different phone.

bummer

The flip phone probably doesnt have a reliable bt implementation, you seem to have found a bug in its logic.

Very interesting indeed. I didnt really have any hope the tech support guy would have an answer - I tried several times to get someone to talk to and was put on hold and dropped, and rerouted and dropped, all that. When I did get someone he was in Manila so of course my heart sank. But he was thorough in listening to my inputs, asked good questions, put me on hold for a good while [he must have been searching a database of known issues] and came back on the line and asked that question. I was impressed as much as I am grateful. Tech support these days is not very helpful. I wont go into the stories of bad outcomes, this one is just really good!
