Any suggestions on a decent but not too expensive bluetooth receiver for the car? Only requirement is that it automatically connect to the phone and that it work when charging. I plan to leave it always plugged into USB.

Don't care too much about audio quality as long as speech is clear. Not listening to music. Just podcasts.

I've tried the belkin one and the griffin bluetrip. The bluetrip was not as loud as the belkin so I went with the belkin. The griffin automatically connects, and the belkin you have to press the little button thing every time you get in the car.

Why not just use an aux cable?

Its kinda annoying to connect an aux cable every time. Also, certain cases cause trouble for connecting aux cables. My otterbox commuter case on my old 4s didn't play nicely with most aux cables

I've recently ordered an HTC A200 because my aux cable doesn't fit my GS4's case (a problem with many cases for thin phones). It supports APT-X lossless audio so quality is supposed to be high. It's about $35 which I dunno if it's considered not too expensive for you. The A200 is only for music.

I'll post when I get it how well it works.

Nice. I'll be interested to hear what you have to say.

My wife uses this one in her car. It sounds really good.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Plugs in to a cigarette lighter, has a pass through for a USB cable (comes with a 30-pin cable) and then plugs in to your Aux. Works perfect, IMO.

EDIT: Wanted to add it doesn't automatically connect, but you just hit the button on the end of the aux jack and it connects. Not a big deal, IMO.

Amazon not showing price. Does it auto connect?

Edit: Ah, I see you edited your post to say it doesn't auto connect. :)

It was like $35 shipped.

What kind of car do you have? You're going to be looking at around $50 for something. Maybe you should consider replacing your radio. That's what I did in my car and I snagged this radio on clearance at my Best Buy about a month ago for $80.

It cost me about $110 to move to a head unit with bluetooth and HD radio. This is coming from years of dealing with various ways to get audio to my car speakers. After everything I went through, I'd really just suggest that people bite the bullet and replace their head unit.
