Bluetooth and you

Do u use bluetooth? I have been with my logitech mx 900 bluetooth mouse. It works fabulus with my Powerbook with internal bluetooth, so no cables or anything just pull the mouse along with the computer out of my bookback and start clicking away.

What are some other bluetooth devices for PC/Mac other than mice, and keyboards. Do they make a bluetooth stereo headset yet? If any of you have any cool bluetooth stuff please list how u use it.

I've been wondering if getting a bluetooth PDA or a bluetooth Phone would be worth it, but i really don't see the use. I guess it would be easy to transfer files b/w my mac and phone/PDA, but that would only replace a small usb cable which wouldn't be that big of a deal because you wouldn't use it much.

I'm just trying to get the most out of this bluetooth in this friggin expensive laptop that i mighta paid to much for (but kinda glad i did), but hey i got a mac :-|

Bryson

PS Bluetooth Headphones would be sweet and gerrrr i'm not even on my apple, i'm on my other windoze 1.7 ghz p4 lappy, hmmm.

I was fiddling with Bluetooth on my laptop and I was able to dial up to my ISP using my T610 without a cable. It was awesome. I was able to do it while driving home from school so I'd imagine you could dial up on any long car trip.

that would rock if i had unlimited min/long distance, but other than chat/slow web browsing i bet the service would kinda suck with speed.

Yeah, the speed wasn't great but I wasn't in the best signal area. I was getting a 9.6kbps handshake. 🙂

I use T-mobile so I get free weekends and I can dialup to Purdue for free. I really just used it to send an email since I was driving. 🙂

i plan to use bluetooth for the first time when the motorola v710 comes out. my new office at work has some tricky service spots, so i figure i could leave my phone in a strong signal point and use the bluetooth headset to answer/make calls. will be neat to also be able to sync my contacts and such with my computers.

If you leave the bluetooth headset paired with the phone, that'll decrease the battery life significantly. Make sure you atleast have the phone plugged in to the AC outlet.

Not too sure what you can do with the bluetooth headset tho 😉

Doesn't T-Mobile give free GPRS? I've used the phone browser before and tried surfing the web on my computer using the T610 (not dialup) and never got charged extra for anything.

I haven't found that anywhere in my contract ($50 family plan) but I've stopped looking. I heard they were doing that but I wasn't sure what would happen if I used a computer. I knew that I would just get charged as a normal voice call the other way.

that would work ok as long as you dont go outside the range of your headset (usually 30ft)

I have been using bluetooth for a while now. It works great for transfering pics/videos from my phone to my pc, and for transfering ringtones/programs from pc to phone.

If you use a mac (ewww) there are some decent programs out there that will sync your phone with your puter everytime you come within range.

that's what i did last year, had a nokia 3650 in NC using my CA dialup on a laptop through bluetooth, it was awesome 🙂

I've used Bluetooth to use my SE T610 as a GPRS modem a few times on T-Mobile. I also use Bluetooth to sync all my contacts and calendar events (since I use MacOS X 10.3 😉 ), which rocks the house already. I also use a Jabra BT200 headset quite a bit with my T610.

And hopefully soon I'll be able to get myself an Acura TL and use my bluetooth phone in there too!!!! 😀

In other words, bluetooth is great if you have a nice phone, and MacOS X!

I have a bluetooth phone and I have a headset paired to it. Pretty cool with no cables and I can multi task with the headset on and do other things.

what service provider do you have

ATT doesnt support circuit switched data calls (CSD) over their GPRS network, how retarded is that
