Is there anything that works through Bluetooth on PC, other than pre-configured mouse/keyboard sets? I mean, I tried a few dongles but none of my gadgets that I'd think should work, works. Such as Bluetooth headsets, speakers, Blackberry, iPod, etc. What's strange is they tend to work well with my car, and headsets do work with phones and MP3 players.

Then why not with PC? Aren't they built to the standard (2.0/2.1 currently, iirc)? Even when the PC sees the device they fail to connect to each other. Why is that?

My Palm TX (PDA - not a phone) syncs over Bluetooth with my PC (Win7). My laptop (WinXP) and desktop (Win7) can transfer files over Bluetooth. Although in case Wifi is faster.
I've actually been looking for a BT kb/mouse to add but they are so much more expensive than regular RF wireless.

i was thinking of using bluetooth to share stuff between computers (laptop to PC) instead of using wireless network which is slow. but i cant find a good bluetooth dongle thing for PC. and im not sure if its a good idea to use bluetooth for that purpose anyway.

Microsoft doesn't officially support Bluetooth for Windows. You'll have better luck with Apple or 3rd party drivers.
