Bluetooth Adapter still "Connecting"

Yesterday I reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 and for the past 6 months or so, I've been using an Apple wireless keyboard and an IOGear USB Bluetooth adpater flawlessly. But now, when I try to pair my keyboard with my computer, I just get this message
2iu2iww.jpg

It just says, "Connecting to device..." and I've let it sit there for an hour, and still nothing. Any ideas? I've tried using both the given CD and the drivers supplied at the website and still the problem persists. I've also tried using it on another computer and get the same error. And I'm sure the adapter itself is working because I've read that if it's a hardware error, that a yellow exclamation mark will appear over the Bluetooth logo in the Windows system tray.
Thanks for any help!

Isn't there something about disabling Windows Bluetooth Stack if using 3rd party software? Maybe worth looking in to as I am sure I have read something about that in the past.

I disabled the Windows generic adapter under the Device Manager, but I'm still looking at the same screen and it just sits there doing nothing. I'm still puzzled as to why it's not working out of the box. When I originally installed it a few months back, it worked right out of the gate and I didn't have to adjust anything. Guess it's just bad luck.

yeah sounds like it. But try enabling the windows one and using that instead. other than that try a different USB port.
