Bluescreen and lines across monitor

A few hours ago I went to play a game and it crashed on me twice. My entire computer froze and my monitor turned off. After restarting the computer I got the bluescreen of death a couple of times and couldn't get past the login screen. Since then I have restarted the computer a couple of times and haven't got the bluescreen, but I am now stuck with green and blue lines across my screen. I have tried updating drivers, reseating my graphics card (8800 gts), and used a different monitor with no success. Everything also seems a lot laggier than before. Is it time for a new video card?

Probably yes, but you may want to try to bake it first. (See Video & Graphics Threads)

yeah, sounds like it bit the dust. C1's suggestion is pretty interesting. I've never tried baking a vid card (but I have tried doing that on other electronics). Same concept here I assume. Might as well try it, you've got nothing to lose if your card is dying.

Visually inspect the eletrolytic capacitors on the video card for burst or bulging ones.

I've had to replace all the ones on my 7600GT.

Thanks for the responses, I'll check out the capacitors and try the baking method tonight. Hopefully I can bring it back to life.
