Ok, this is the hardware I have.

IWill KK266 (new)
Matrox G450 w/ 16MB SDR (new)
Antec 300W PSU
Maxtor 20GB (had for a while with several old partitions, one of which D: is a partition copy from what was the old C: partition)

History: I recently returned an MSI Turbo because of this same problem. I see now it probably wasn't the motherboard.

Description of problem:
When installing the OS win98 gets to the point where it builds a database of devices. It goes to reboot and the blue screen appears.

"A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:00A021C0."

I press a key an get

"An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C145AF57 in VxD---. This was called from 0028:C0082A98 in VxD VKD(01) + 000001D0. It may be possible to continue normally."

I have different memory than that with the Turbo. I'm using the same video card as before and the same hard drive and the same cpu.

With the Turbo, each time it would start to play that opening wave file that plays when win98 starts when it would crash. Atleast the Turbo worked for 2 days before this happened. I sure wish I could get past this and move on.
Thanks.

Edit: Problem cause by win98 installation wizard pulling files from D: partition. D was a copy of an old C: partition. I hid it using Partition Magic and all went well. Of course, I had to put the hdd onto another pc as slave to run that software.

Need more info on what processor you`ve is it overclocked etc?btw BSOD can be caused by many things software or hardware,I had a similar problem to you on trying to reinstall OS after BSOD & random reboots it was in my case caused by a faulty CPU,so anymore info would help.
