I started up my computer yesterday after it had worked fine the previous day and I turn it off at night. I turn it on and the mobo screen shows and everything loads but as it is about to go to the windows loading screen where it has the logo and the little bar it goes to a blue screen that says "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" I don't know why this is happening or why it did this yesterday but not the day before. It still does this and I have no way of accesing my computer.

Safe mode doesn't work either. When I turn it back on to see if it still does this it gives me a choice of Safe mode. Safe mode with command promt. Start computer with previous configurations. And Start computer normallys. I have tried all of them and when I press enter it just goes to the blue screen.

If anyone could help me that would be apprechiated.

This is a picture of what it basically looks like with the writing on the second line saying UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Oh and this doesn't work either this is off the Microsoft website

If it's a damaged file system case then:-
1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

5.At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.

6.At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.

This takes a bit longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.

Where it says to press R when you get to the Welcome to setup screen well the Welcome to setup screen doesn't show up on my computer. There is no place to press R.
