Blue Screen on Disc Eject...

Hey all,

When I eject CD's from my CDR and DVD drives it gives me a blue screen saying that the disc is unavailable or something like that. Hitting escape gets rid of it.

Some CD's always do it, some never do, and others do it sometimes. It is definitely enough of a hastle that I need to do something about it

Anyone have any ideas why it might do this. It seems very random...

Thanks,

-Kevin

Thats pretty much the only time I have seen that screen..ejecting during a read, or before an install is completed off the disk..or playing a game using the cd and not closing the program before ejecting.

The blue screen is caused by the software that is trying to read from the CD. I think it's the standard exception routine for a missing CD. It doesn't show up with programs that include their own exception handling for this particular error.

Windows just wouldnt be the same without the

<< Blue screens of death >>

now would it! Its ok, just wait for the drive to stop spinning before you eject.
