Blue Screen of Death

I am getting the BSoD when trying to install Win XP Pro to a new machince I put together.

athlon 64 NewCastle 3200 +
Asus K8v Se Dlx
2x512MB OCZ
200 GB Seagate UATA
Rad x800 pro
SB Aud 2 ZS Plat
Lite-on CD-rw

When installing win XP Pro I get messages that it cannot read a file or the file isnt on the disc or something. Could it be that the disc is just too old and damaged? It is a legit copy of Pro upgrade. If it is the disc will MS replace it?

Run MemTest86 to see if it's a RAM issue.

If it is the disk the MS will replace it for you. I'm willing to bet it's a RAM issue though. Most of the time the RAM is to blame for BSODs on install.

I am going to switch out the ram with some kingston

memory is working. No problems finding files and xp is setting up fine now with no bsod.
