Blue Screen of Death with new build

I built my new computer not to long ago and I keep getting the Blue Screen. I have tried a few things but think it is now time to ask for help. I tried updating all the drivers to the latest version (i think) and did a fresh install, but I am still getting the issue.

My hardware is:
MB: Asus Sabertooth Z77
CPU: i5 - 3570k
Ram: 8gb x 2 corsair vengeance
Video: EVGA 670
Disk 1: OCZ Agility 3 256gb
Disk 2: 1 TB (i think Samsung) - from old pc
Power Supply - Antec 1200w (from old pc)

The logs show it as a Kernal-Power error with Event ID = 41. Not sure how to post the dump file.

Bug check 0x7F typically occurs after you install a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or if installed hardware fails.


0x00000008, or Double Fault, indicates that an exception occurs during a call to the handler for a prior exception. Typically, the two exceptions are handled serially. However, there are several exceptions that cannot be handled serially, and in this situation the processor signals a double fault. There are two common causes of a double fault:
  • A kernel stack overflow. This overflow occurs when a guard page is hit, and the kernel tries to push a trap frame. Because there is no stack left, a stack overflow results, causing the double fault. If you think this overview has occurred, use !thread to determine the stack limits, and then use kb (Display Stack Backtrace) with a large parameter (for example, kb 100) to display the full stack.
  • A hardware problem.
Is your memory 1.5V or higher?

Also try run a memtest.

The OCZ Agility may have issues with OS installation (Win 7) -- or, whatever is at the core of the problem, users report BSODs in various situations with those SSDs. That seems to be true for the Agility 3 and Agility 4.

Maybe you should remove the SSD from the configuration, and test with Windows installed on a reliable hard drive; then test your RAM (already advised).
