Well I have a 75DRV5 Kt 333 Soltek Motherboard. It supports the new 333 FSB barton 2500+, so they say.
So I replaced my 1800+ to a 2500+ . Problem was is that I had to set the jumpers on the mobo for a 166 bus and a 12.5 multiplier...ok and since this is the older version of the kt333 for soltek setting the multiplier could not have been done in the cmos screens.
Now when the processor is detected at 1.8 Ghz like it should with a 166 Bus, the system flips out on me when windows xp starts to load. Gives me the blue screen saying windows was stopped to prevent damage to the computer. Does this mean the pci bus is blowing a fuse because my motherboard can't truly support a 333/333 FSB? Is my bios to old?
When the system can not classify what type of AMD I have, is that a good sign I need a bios update?
