Well I have a 75DRV5 Kt 333 Soltek Motherboard. It supports the new 333 FSB barton 2500+, so they say.
So I replaced my 1800+ to a 2500+ . Problem was is that I had to set the jumpers on the mobo for a 166 bus and a 12.5 multiplier...ok and since this is the older version of the kt333 for soltek setting the multiplier could not have been done in the cmos screens.

Now when the processor is detected at 1.8 Ghz like it should with a 166 Bus, the system flips out on me when windows xp starts to load. Gives me the blue screen saying windows was stopped to prevent damage to the computer. Does this mean the pci bus is blowing a fuse because my motherboard can't truly support a 333/333 FSB? Is my bios to old?

When the system can not classify what type of AMD I have, is that a good sign I need a bios update?

it's typically a problem with your processor. try dropping down to 133FSB and see if it boots

No, it's not supposed to be 12.5, it's supposed to be 11 (1833/166=11)... that's probably where your problem lies... at 12.5 with no voltage increase your processor is probably creating errors, hence the blue screen.

My pc2100 ram cannot handle the 166 setting. Before I relised this, I bumped my voltage up to 1.7 then to 1.8 to see if it changed anything and I got the same result.

Ill try setting the multiplier down to 11, but I'll doubt it will work.

My pc boots now that I have it running at the 133 bus. The only thing I really hate is that I have a kt333 soltek. Its the latest of their kt333's that support the 333 FSB, however I have to use jumpers to set the default bus and multiplier.

I love soltek, I just hate the fact I have the kt333 and not the nforce board.
