Blue Screen Error when using DVDs

Everytime I insert a DVD into either my Sony DVD-RW or my Hitachi DVD drive I get a blue screen error stating "a thread tried to release a resource it did not own" CD's work fine it's just DVDs. The odd part is that everything was running fine just a few weeks ago. I have an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Mobo with the newest drivers. I can't seem to find any solutions on the internet as well. Can anybody help solve this issue?

Heres the Windows Error message when I tried to run a Grand Theft Auto game.

Well, looking in google, I can tell you that that one such gene, Bcp1, is active in both diploid tapetum and haploid microspores and is required for pollen fertility.
But, I don't think that is the case in your specific system.

If you unplug one of the dvd units from power and mobo, does the same error come up, if yes, what about if you unplug the other one?

Yes, I have tried unplugging them individually as you said and that doesn't work. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for both. That didn't help either.

Which drivers are you using (or do you mean you just did an uninstall and let windows reinstall again at boot?)

What happens when you insert a blank dvd?
or a dvd with data with no autorun or menu - not movies - in?
What burning software have you got installed?
What dvd playing software/mediaplayer have you got installed?

I just used the windows drivers for the reinstall after boot.
I do not have any blank dvds laying around but I have a feeling that it would not crash with a blank inserted. I have no burning software installed, as I have never used the dvd-rw drive to burn anything yet. I only use windows media player for playing dvds.

I think this problem is stemming from my motherboard's sata controller. I would use an ide dvd drive but both the ide ports I have are being used up by my two hard drives. I am not very happy with Asus right now.

You did load up the chipset drivers, didn't you? Straight after installing windows?

Try a different media player as a troubleshoot.
I recommend VLC, but it ain't brilliant at dvd's.
If you play a movie from your hdd, do you get a problem.

I would try looking at the angle of a sw problem at the moment, rather than hw - check out how other media players come up with an error, if at all.

If they do, then it could well be a problem with the hw setup.
