Sometimes when I play Simcity 4 I get a fatal crash with a driver IRQL error. It says the crash was caused by nvmlp.sys. Isn't that an nvidia file? Does anyone know what exactly is causing this error and what I can do to fix it.

I've played other games EQII, Battle for Middle Earth, Call of Duty...and I never had this problem.

1.) Download new drivers from Nvidia.com
2.) Remove video card from device manager.
3.) Reinstall drivers.

I've had to play around with some series of nVidia drivers to get the correctly stable ones on a number of Geforce cards.

I edited the subject because the problem just got worse. After the latest crash my computer wouldn't boot up. It freezes on the post screen with this message:

"Pimary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed"

"Floppy disk(s) fail (40)"

I had to go into the bios and select 'Halt on nothing' to get my computer to boot up.

What is causing this?? Please help..
