No, you need to re-format and re-install Windows. And don't force shutdowns like that.

is there any other way besides reformat? i really want to keep my data and stuff.

yeah i know force shut down is bad but haha you dont want to know why i did it. maybe pulling the power cord is quicker and better option then holding the power button down.

Have you tried a repair install of windows? What version of Windows?

Exact error messages are helpful.

Buy another HD, install it as the only HD, install Windows onto it, then attach your screwed-up HD as a slave HD, and then copy your files off of it.

Or, if you have access to a working computer, buy a portable USB HD, of a large enough size to hold your files. Download and burn a bootable Linux distro that lets you run directly off of the CD/DVD, and then boot using that. When in Linux, attach your portable USB HD, and copy your files off onto the portable USB HD, then when they are backed up, reformat and reinstall windows, and then from within the new install of windows, plug in the USB portable HD again, and copy your files back over.
