Anyone else ever tried it? It *has* to be put in a pilsner glass. You just can't waste that beautiful color.

Wow, never tried it. Blue Moon is tied with Guinness as my favorite beer. There's a local bar that I like to go to in the fall because they start serving Pumkin Ale with cinnamon around the rim of the glass.

I'd love to try this pumkin blue moon.

I've avoided this Blue Moon stuff because I hate to jump on bandwagons, and around here, everyone thinks they're cool and different because they drink it.

I realize that's petty of me though and I believe I'll finally give this brew a try. Only because it's Mosh approved.

Pumpkin ales in general are... interesting, they are ok. But I haven't found them to be anything special.

Damn, that is an awesome color.

Don't think I've had this, but I like Blue Moon regular and some BM I had this summer was alright. That's not saying much though, as I like a lot of beers. Hell, I was drinking bottles of Icehouse at the bars last night. :D

the blue moon pumpkin is ok but Shipyard Pumpkinhead is the very best pumpkin beer ever made.

I usually avoid paying premium prices for anything brewed by Bud/Miller/Coors. Especially Coors. But in this case I have had it and I would give it a C-. I would agree that Shipyard is a better pumpkin but I have yet to have a "flavored" beer that would get more than a B.

Ever try Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat?

the sam's cherry wheat is ok and different for the maybe the first half of the bottle but then it loses it's initial enjoyment. Sam's summer was good this year.

I haven't had this one. I typically buy Sam Adams Oktoberfest around this time of the year (thanks for the reminder, I'll have to see if any stores have it).

Blue Moon is pretty good. I prefer Hoegaarden or New Belgium's Sunshine when it comes to wheat beer.

I picked up the Pumpkin Ale a few days ago and had one. I thought it was very good. A lot better than the regular Blue Moon.

Why isn't there a Beer forum? :)

Yes, I didn't like that one either. The cranberry is terrible. The only "flavored" that I would consider buying again was the Pete's Strawberry Blonde.

I picked up a case of Sam's Octoberfest for $19 at Costco.

I tried it on Wednesday, I liked it a lot. Couldn't find any local liquor stores stocking it :brokenheart:

Have you ever had a Black and Blue? It's similar to a Black and Tan except Blue Moon is substituted for Bass. I recommend you try it if you haven't seeing as they are your favorite beers.

On topic: The pumpkin ale is good. Nice seasonal beer that will be around for fall, I saw it at Binny's last time I went but didn't pick any up.

There is a small brewery in my home town and they make one called "Screaming Pumpkin"... Its pretty vile, though I'm really not a fan of many of the beers they make.

Smuttynose & DFH are on my menu this year. If I can get someone to get me some, Penn & Weyerbacher too. Real pumpkin ale goes great with pecan pancakes or waffles. :)

I tried the Blue Moon Pumpkin last weekend and thought it was decent. Was my first pumpkin ale I ever tried and I was actually a bit disappointed, I was expecting a more distinctive taste. The pumpin/spike flavor was actually kind of subtle.
