Blue LED's

I was wondering if there was a standardized type of LED that computer cases (and keyboards too) use (for power and HD).

I currently have an Antec 282 case and wanted to replace the LED's with Blue ones... Anyone know which ones will work, and what i should look for?

Like a 2.0v, 20mA LED. Use a 470 ohm resister with it and run it off 12V.


Check out caseetc.com. Pricey, but they sell individual LEDs and resisters.

I just finished replacing the LED's on my case with blue one's. It pretty easy, you just have to find the right LED's for the job. If you have access to a radio shack that is a good place to start. I have an antec case and it took two 5.0V LED's. You might have to order it depending on the actual size of the LED. The size you case uses is either 5.0mm or 3.0mm, probably the later. You can also find these LED's on Radio Shacks web siteRadio Shack LED's or Case Etc.. If you have any more questions just post it and I'll get to it as fast as possible. Good luck!!!

I just bought whatever radioshaft had and stuck them in. They work fine, no need to fiddle with resistors or voltages. Using a blue and white LED. Fairly expensive for LEDs though, 4-5 dollars for blue/whites.

For the blue LED's you want Radio Shack part number 276-311.
