Blue lamps?

I'm looking for a desk lamp that has a very strong blue light. Not so blue that it's white (like car headlights).

Any ideas?

Between working at a retail store concerning it and working under a non-union electrician, I've picked up a few things.

Pricey bulbs, but a MUCH nicer color than the standard.

Unless, of course, you meant *blue* light, in which case Text.

That looks more like what I wanted.

The bulb he linked is more in line with a decorative bulb. It's not going to be bright, and is typically something you'll see at parties.

If you go to Home Depot, they'll be able to offer you a couple of different options. You'll have:

1) GE Reveal Light Bulbs. Gives you a light blue light like a natural daylight (think sky blue).
2) N-Vision CFL Daylight bulbs. Same as the above but in CFL form.
3) Philips. They have a couple of different pure flourescent bulbs (T8 and T12 bulbs in various lengths). They also have halogen variants and may carry the regular incandescent bulbs (this will vary by region). There's varying names (Natural Sunshine, Daylight, etc) that will have slightly different color temperatures.
4) Philips Blue Decorative bulbs. Like the Westinghouse bulb jagec linked.

Then go with something that jagec linked. The bulbs I listed (1-3) are going to give you lighter sky blue lights. The one he linked is going to give you more of a regular blue in color.

What they also have by Philips is a Par38 Blue Light. Get a clip lamp and throw that puppy in and you'll have blue light all over the place.

ge reveal or such light with coating, but those are just color filter that enhance certain colors and are not higher color temperature.
compact flourescents come in daylight bulb versions, higher color temp=more blue
don't use at night though, throw off your biological clock
why do you want a literally blue bulb?

If you want bluer color, look for at least 5000K color temp. 5500K is closer to daylight at noon. My favorite color temp that I've seen thus far is 6500K. Home Depot should have them, they're fluorescent tubes, Philips brand, Alto Daylight. I wish I could get more CFLs at that temp; the best I can usually find is 5500K. It's daylight, buy 6500K is supposed to be closer to an overcast sky, which is what I prefer anyway.

Yeah, I was thinking that was young for a 15-year-old to get diagnosed. I was diagnosed at age 24, I believe. I hate it.
