woohoo! got my 6800gt in the mail today... can't wait to go home and install it!

blue glowie steps to completion:
-glue on zalman northbridge heatsink
-change power supply
-install 6800gt
-install second sata 160gb hd (decide on redundant raid or nightly backup or just extra space)
-install old live 5.1 soundcard, since nvidia soundstorm optical output on my AN7 keeps on getting choppy
-connect front ports
-move slot-load dvd-rom to an uncovered bay
-put side panels on, connecting window fan
-play swg, splinter cell pandora, and halo in all their anti-aliased glory.
-finally burn cd's again since I'll be able to turn my PC tower vertical after I glue on that damn northbridge heatsink. next mobo I buy will have a fanless northbridge heatsink preinstalled.

😀 thanks! it's been sitting on its side with its panel placed on top since april when I broke the northbridge screws cause the fan was buzzing 🙂 I'm psyched to finally have a completed system together.

video card is in... northbridge stil unglued... power supply too long an interferes with top case fan... looks like i'll need to get rma for my burnt out antec true 430.

Woohoo! Rig is complete 🙂 Northbridge finally glued, 91% isopropyl worked miracles for cleaning off the old arctic silver from the heatisnk and chip. I'm just sticking with the case's 350 watt PS, there doesn't seem to be any problem with it.

Now I can build my sister's PC and play with my dell SC420.
