Just saw this 1 day special over on Newegg. Couldn't resist for the price. The case is a Blue Antec SX1040 clone with a acrylic window, and side intake 80mm fan with filter. The case does not have a PSU. Looked like a decent deal to me..:)

Nice looking case.

I am curious why the door over the CD drives is a good idea. I assume you have to open it every time you put in a CD. Seems unnecessary, though it does make the case nicer looking.

FPSguy I have the same complaint. I currently have 2 Antec sx1030b's and I removed that panel off the front. It's made to be easily removed without breaking.

Also, if you are like me and couldn't care less about the cut out you can get the same case here
http://computers.bizrate.com/marketplace/search/search__cat_id--46010,mid--31451.html
for 56.99

Or for a really good price you can buy the case without the side panel cutout but with the side fan and 400w PS 58.00!!

This would be a KILLER price if it's aluminium. :)

It helps with color matching unless you have all blue drives. Another benefit is it keeps out dust which kills alot of cd drives.

Dust killing cd drives? First time I've heard that.

Ah the infamous Alienware case. The blue color and window are definate plusses. Good deal on the case, although the door seems too much of a hassle (for me at least).

Maybe it's like a server case where you don't want to access the optical drives often.

Or maybe just for looks. :)

Sweet case...although you can grab the aluminum one for only $30 more and the $15 shipping hurts!

Hmmm. Well from what I can see, the Chieftec aluminum version of the 1040 with the acrylic panel is $80, only $11 more. Availabe in green, yellow, blue, or silver. Is there a difference I don't recognize?
Oh, the one thing I did see is this one doesn't have the side panel fan.

EDIT: Wow. Don't know what happened, but since I wrote this message a few minutes ago, the aluminum cases are now showing at $69.00. Same as the deal of the day. :Q S&H is a few bucks more at $18, but still a good price for a case.

You know $15 shipping ain't bad for a case. Especially FedEx saver.

Wow that's a good price! I just wish the aluminum had the fan on the side :/

Crap...I really want an aluminum blue one, but I DON'T want the side window...it's just too big and I think it looks tacky. Can I get just an aluminum blue sidepanel anywhere?

The shipping has always been $15 for the blue steel case. There has been no $3 reduction.

The shipping for the white (steel) case is only $9.99. Does the blue pigment really make the
case that much heavier that Newegg would charge an extra $5.01 more for shipping???

Also, the aluminum Chieftec cases are about 12 lbs lighter yet Newegg charges $18 to ship these.
What's up with that, Newegg???

Obviously Newegg's shipping charge isn't based on the packages' weight!
