Blu-Ray with 7900GS

I'm a videophile, and dvd's look... ok on my 1600x1200 monitor. I'm also seeing that blu-ray drives are getting very affordable (newegg has a sub-$150 one).

Do you think this could handle Blu-Ray? I know there's HDCP, but I also know there are... ways around it.

Is there any good way to test this? I've played on 1080p quicktime trailers from Apple, and they do studder a little. But I think that might just be the crappy way Quicktime is downsizing the 1080p to fit on 1600x1200. I played a vlc file that said it was 1080p, and it seemed to be alright. I just don't want to get a blu-ray drive to find out that it stutters when I try to use it.
