Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD Comparisons

Text

They pit a few of the same movies on each format and compare the overall quality versus one another. HD-DVD keeps looking better and better.

With one player each, and the first wave of masters, HD-DVD has won the first battle.

It's too soon to matter though, since no one is buying either yet except a handfull of early adopters.

Once there are more players, more discs, a second round of mastering, and we can see whether the PS3 actually gets used as a player then we'll know who's winning the war.

Agreed. I just hope it doesn't take too long to declare a victor, because I have the itch to upgrade 😛

Shizzle.
Are we really so much in need of even higher quality home video. How about working on the ozone layer and overpopulation issues?

What are the ramifications for Sony if Blu-Ray doesn't pan out? How much would this hurt them overall?

Sony will be fine. They'll still suck, but they'll be fine.

Yeah, you go ahead and fight the man there. I'll be watching high def movies that are functionally equivalent to DVDs and VHS.
