Blu Ray to PC to TV via Xbox?

Hi, looking to rip my Blu Rays to my PC and then watch on my main TV via my Xbox 360 using Windows Media Center. I am hoping to rip the Blu Rays and keep the quality but not the size/space. Need suggestions on software and etc to do this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm gonna guess mp4 is the most efficient format for this. I'll let others chime in as I have no experience ripping blu rays.
