Blu-ray prices finally beginning to drop

It seems like people still want prices to drop towards $200 before they hop on board, but what do you think about it?

Memorex announces $269 Blu-ray player

The Memorex player will support Profile 1.1 and not Profile 2.0, which IMO will already make it less popular, although do people really need all the extra Internet crap?

There are a few players finally below $300, and it seems like a couple more product announcements are expected to take place before Christmas.
 
I was in Best Buy in August and they had several BR players marked at about that same price. MSRP or no, its still cost to the consumer. And that included brand names too.
 
Right now you can get a bdp1500 at most BBs for 299 or the last gen sharp model for 250ish in lots on places including BB.
 
Looking forward to the holiday season. I wouldnt be surprised if walmart has models below $200. You never know what they will get in from China.
