Blu Ray player question (upgrade?)

That kindof depends on how you have your blu ray player hooked up for the sound portion and to a lesser degree for the video portion. If you have the current player hooked into your receiver via HDMI then I doubt you'll notice a difference in sound at all. Your receiver is doing all the work in decoding and amplifying the sound and all the blu ray player is doing is sending it a digital stream which is pretty hard to mess up. If you have it hooked up via optical then the same applies although you can have the player decode the audio it's typically not wise. For the video it's possible for a better model player to improve on the video quality although sometimes that takes a higher quality display to notice. We need a bit more info about your setup to give a fully informed answer. What are you using for audio & for a display?

Most likely the only difference you may notice are load times. Which is a big plus as blu-ray is pathetically slow in loading on most budget players.

I bought a cheap Dynex wifi blu ray player from bestbuy last year and will I notice any video or sound changes if I upgrade to a brand name player?

What I currently have.

Thinking about buying one of these two.
Panasonic DMP-BDT220
or
Sony BDP-S590

I seriously doubt you will see much improvement unless you are having issues with your present player. It also depends on how good your main system is if you would see any benefits.
