BLu-Ray playback on PC

Trying to watch Kingdom of Heaven on my PC.

Box says Audio:
5.1 DTS HD Master Audio - English

PowerDvd 7.3 claims its using its Mpeg2 decoder for the video?

I tried using PowerDVD 7.3 for blu ray playback. Powerdvd does not recognize the disc as specifically bluray disc. I can load up the *.m2ts manually but it just freezes. You can skip to different scenes and the video frame will load but the audio stream is unidentified and will not allow normal playback.

I tried uninstalling and reintalling various codecs. Is there any reason DTS HD would not be demuxed properly ?

Other installed codecs should not affect the PDVD player. However, disable the redundant and lesser-featured X-Fi decoder to preclude conflicts. Then, set the PDVD speaker environment accordingly. If S/PDIF then perhaps enable down-mixing. Otherwise, my understanding is that DTS HD may only be output by either analog or multi-channel PCM (via HDMI) to an appropriate decoder which you prolly wouldn't have without knowing 😉
