Blu-ray isn't working

Windows XP MCE, FRESH install.
'My Computer' sees the drive as a DVD drive, but does not detect a disc when I put in a blu-ray disc.

PowerDVD crashes every time I tell it to play the movie.

It works in W7, so it's not the drive.

I'm not using W7 because it BSOD at random intervals (nvlddmkm.sys - not drive related.)

Halp.. ;(
