I have a samsung bd p1590 for xmas and I'm putting it in my GV42LCD 1080P Vizio TV and the picture is all messed up and jarbled like if you tried playing a game w/out a video card or installng direct x...if you know what i mean

I'm installing a firmware update hopefully that will reoslve it (i can barely read the menu),

Pretty not excited right now.

The boot up screen is messed up and putting a CD in resolves the same messup.

Will try the other HDMI port and a 2nd HDMI cable but checking in here to see if anyone can let me know whats going on in advance, I'm new to this.

HDMI is going into the TV port. Then TV has a optical audio out going to my HT system. Blu ray player is connected to the internet w/ cat5 cable, whichi s allowing me to update the system.

I also have a UVERSE ATT connected to the HDMI second port, but I disconnected that since it is (always on) and still having messed up bluray video

*EDIT. fixed and blu ray playing is great, star trek looks phenomenal

nevermind, i found similar concerns in a thread started on AVSFORUM, I will try to resolve my issues there

Problem resolved by updating the firmware one time. 1080P works flawlessly on intro screen after asking it to move from stock 1080i. Will start to play movie to see how actual videoplay is.

Glad you got it worked out. The constant updating on these things does annoy me. Good thing sony does it often on my ps3.
