They're running BOGO on HDDVDs...the selection is just much more limited.

Or.... the demand is much higher. The Harry Potter HD DVDs apparently were only offered for a couple of hours, indicating that they sold out their "limited supply". Apparently the BD supply is either much larger, or the demand much lower.

This conversation about Harry Potter sales numbers is getting dangerously close to a format debate. If you continue it, please be very careful that it relates to the thread and is not a discussion of who's winning the format war.

Nah, because HD-DVD discounts players and overprices disks, Blu-ray overprices players and discounts disks. It's really a gentlemans war.

That's bull. Disks are priced basically the same. The great thing about these B1G1 deals is that you end up paying less for high def than you normally would for standard def (at least on new movies).

Amazon alternates their deals and the HD DVD b1g1 deal has been around for weeks so pretty much everything good has already been picked over. I think they allocate a certain amount for the deal to each movie and once those have been sold they remove that movie from the deal. They've already removed a number of movies from the BR b1g1 deal. Let's see how many worthwhile BR disks are left in 2 weeks. HP on BR took <2 days to be removed? And you're claiming that HD doesn't sell as much just because it's also gone from it's deal long after the deal started? Please.

It's about the same and the deals alternate. I hate HD/BR fanboys. I bought some HD disks from that deal and I bought some BR disks from this one. Neither format is going anywhere soon.

Remember to use DVDSAVE5 if you have an amazon visa to save $5 per order. From what people said on other forums, split your orders to maximize use of that. 2x $27 movies, 4x $20 movies, 4x $23 movies. Apparently amazon assigned the highest price movies as the ones you pay for so you can't add different priced ones at once if you want to maximize savings on this.

BB has buy three get two free. I own both format and when you compare them side by side (i.e. same HDTV) you can't tell the difference. Also, that list is too limited.
