Blu Ray and TV question

Hi all,

I recently bought the Sony bdp-s350 and the BR movies play fine on my 47" Olevia TV at 1080p but the picture is a little dark. When I watch regular movies from my HD cable stations or regular dvd's, the picture seems brighter.

My question is there a setting used to brighten up the picture from the player or do I need to recalibrate my TV set. If I re-do my TV set, wouldn't the picture be too bright when watching regular TV.

Thoughts.

Thanks

Check your picture settings; they usually vary between different inputs (HDMI 1 may have different settings from HDMI 2, HDMI 3, composite 1, composite 2, etc). Throw in a copy of a calibration DVD or use a free THX optimizer to get the best settings for your set.

Correct, most displays have different settings per input.
