Blu Ray and HD DVD's

My first spot of choice was best buy and i was getting used to spending $30+ on a movie. And i would be way happy once I saw them for $25 and below. But I just got a PS3 for christmas and wondered over to amazon for both the rebate form and see the new blu ray releases and noticed that they have movies for as little as $20!! I remember seeing sites having deals during the holiday season but was wondering if there was a good site to get my movies at better than best buy prices?

my FS thread 😛

I like the amazon b1g1 deals, got like 8 on the latest one, including harry potter 1-4 for like 10 a piece

I don't, I Netflix them. Not going to bother buying any until there is a clear winner.

Same here, though Amazon's buy-1-get-1 made The Fountain and Letters From Iwo Jima both for $24 very tempting. Both looked very nice in 1080p.

Its beyond winner/loser now. PS3 users are plenty, and the cheap hd-dvd deals have put a hd-dvd player in too many homes.

The movies will just start releasing in both formats imo.

Best Buy's B1G1 sale (Bourne Ultimatum & Transformers)
My GF got me one from an Amazon Market Place seller (Knocked Up)
Fry's (Bourne Identity & Planet Earth)
Gamestop Used B1G1 sale (Bourne Supremacy, King Kong, Fast and the Furious, Batman Begins)
5 Free (We Were Soliders, Apollo 13, Four Brothers - sold other 2)

I think those are all the movies I want to own as well. The rest I get from Netflix.

Best Buy has a buy 3 get 2 free on ANY hd-dvd right now (under 34.99) -- pretty good deal, considering amazon's B1G1 selection is limited to certain titles.

Have a place like a pawn store but only for video games/consoles/movies. Used HD DVDs and BDs for 12.99-14.99. They had nip/tuck Season 1 for 44.99

The place is called "Cool Stuff"
There's a similar place called "Replay"
Both located in Virginia Beach

I still couldn't decide if I should buy a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD player and combo player is just stupidly expensive.

If/when that happens I will start buying them but as long as this silly war goes on and movies are solely released only in 1 of the 2 formats Netflix works for me as well.

Do you intend to buy the loser then for the expected bargain bin discs? I don't see what the beeg deal is either way. The hardware and library of discs isn't going to magically disappear and in any case neither format is desirable compared to simply having portable media files making use of the common advanced codecs.

LFIJ is a good flick with replay value but has intentionally washed-out colour so is not a great demo disc, as such.

Bought 2 from Bestbuy when the had the B1G1 deal (Bourne Ultimatum and Transforers)
Bought 2 from Amazon with B1G1 deal (Goodfellas and Corpse Bride)
Also bought some brand new on ebay.
