They're supposed to do 217mhz at 2-4-4-8 1T, don't know how true that is though.

Wow! Great price on some great memory. Kyle at HardOCP did a test on a couple sticks of this stuff a while back and it was definitely on par with Corsair PC3500.

Ram price will keep going down for a while.

Usually 1st and 2nd quarters are slow quarter. RAM manufacturers have to cut their
chip price in spot market.

Don't know exactly how true that is concerning the higher end RAM modules. Everyone's using PC2100 these days, but PC3000 is made purely for enthusiasts. I'm sure that PC2100 will continue to take big hits, but the higher end modules might only take moderate price hits.

I''d rather buy at tigerdirect crucial XMS pc3500 mem for $99 256mb, ad $199 for 512mb.

Don't forget shipping which adds 10$ to each order, and the fact that TigerDirect isn't exactly the best retailer isn't too pleasing either. Googlegear has the 256 for 98$ shipped or 512 for 185.50$

I wonder if its practically the same as the pc3000 hyper x stuff, thats only 69 at googlegear. The 3000 stuff has better cl ratings so it could be that they are the same thing

True, but the review also showed that a little extra voltage and the timings can be set more aggressive. Also, considering this memory is selling for cheaper than quality CAS2 PC3000 memory, it's a pretty hot deal.

And having it running cas 2 at 447mhz sort of makes those other settings unimportant. The real speed enhancement comes from the cas2, not the *-4-4-8 or *-3-3-7.
And I just bought 2 x 256mb TwinMos pc3200 cl2.5 for $159. Oh well, I doubt I'd be able to see a huge performance diff.

Ofcourse you guys know why they're doing this right?

DDR-2 is around the corner, look at the geforceFX its got it already. That on top of the fact that the RAM market is being flooded thanks to the chinese new year.

I'm gonna hold out and save for DDR-2 if its all that it claims to be.

What a PC makeover year:

SATA
DDR-2
64-bit processors AMD or 800MHZ Pentiums
GeforceFX or Radeon 9700

Crossing fingers,

Yah I'm gonna see how the reports of price slashing after the Chinese New Year (didn't realize it had such a big influence on RAM prices  ) pan out, but I'm not sure how much they'll affect the highe-end stuff like this Kingston and Corsair XMS.

Has anyone been able to run this at @ 200mhz 2-2-2-6 1T Sync'd to their FSB?

I'm personally holding out to get a pair of the new Corsair Low Latency XMS sticks that just came out. For ~$100/shipped, the 256 MB PC3200 claims to be able to do 2-2-2-6-1T @ 400 MHz. I'm gonna wait until the price on the TwinX dual-512MB PC3200 LL kits comes down some more. I'd rather trust Corsair over Kingston myself.
