Blown Video Card?

Hey all i think i've got a bad video Card, and hoping someone can shed some light.

Card Model: Power Color ATI 9800-PRO 128

Symptoms: Playing game, when restarts computer (no shut down just restart), and now it's started hanging and not responding pre-post. NOTE: i also have to keep a house fan blowing on it to keep it to run for longer then 15 min for any video application (game/movie.)

I switched it out for an onld GF2 and i dont get any problems but i have no real good stress test for the graphics card to run for a while to look at stats. Usually i'ld just play CS or now Guild wars and it would respond pritty quick.

so i guess i'm looking for a second oppinion here. Peoples thoughts?

Thanks Dann-o

are u saying that the fan on ur 9800pro is not working?? if its not u will have to change it instead of putting ur housefan blowing on it, it could be one reason that ur card could be overheating!! try reinstalling drivers, use drivercleaner and make sure u have the latest drivers.
it might be a malfunctioning card also!

Hey thanks for the suggestion. It turns out my mobo is junk, and this caused the problems to be evident elsewhere. The Videocard is fine. YAY! stupid mobo and it's stupid farm realistate hobbie

great...atleast u were able to pinpoint the problem!! sometimes the mobo can be the mother of all problems
