Has anyone ever tried blowing an everyday fan directly onto the the motherboard?
I installed a new enthernet card into my system, and decided to leave the side panel off, in case I had to go inside the PC again. While the PC was booting up I decided to get my floor fan and blow it directly into the case while the PC was on. I set it on LOW.
Low and behold, I just got finished running 3D Mark 2005, and just happened to check my CPU and NB temps and was amazed that they are down almost 10 degrees! Before, my max CPU temp was 39C and NB was 41C. With the fan blowing inside the case my CPU temp has gone down to 32C and my NB to 29C.
Could the fan be making the difference, or is it the just the fact that the side panel is off?
