Blowhole/Window Trim?

I'm looking for some black rubber gasket trim to slip over the sharp sheet metal edge after I cut my blowhole. CaseETC used to carry it but ever since he got bought out by Directron, they let all the good case mod accessories, tools, kits, etc. run out, with "No ETA" proudly posted. Now all that stuff is very hard, or impossible, to find. Try finding a 92mm holesaw!

to see what I want, go to: Trim

Thanks.

Sherriff,

(The link works on other systems here - don't know why not on yours - IE security settings?)

I have checked one car parts store - but the trim I saw was for car door edges - too thick of an opening for the sheet metal. Have you seen trim made to go over thinner materials?

Isman - thanks - I'll check it out.

BB yes it works but takes me to the front page. Call me lazy but I won't search for something you have in mind. 😉

I've seen a variety of widths and thickness of the trim @ stores but Isman suggestion should do you.

If you want to "cheat" you could get a small inside diameter vacuum hose and cut it down the side.

Thanks - I actually found Milwaukee bi-metal hole saws (92mm-3 5/8" and 80mm-3 1/8") at a Milwaukee power tools repair center here in Omaha - they had one each left. The guy said that he could not keep those sizes in stock and his next shipment was backordered with no ETA - he didn't understand until I told him the significance of those sizes.

Still deciding on the trim. My Antec Performance SX1040 case is made from 1mm sheet metal so I was looking at # 7 because the C dimension (with the 1/16 A) is only 1/8" thick - I think that may be less intrusive.

At any rate, as soon as I decide what trim I want and get it in, I guess I'll be punching an 92mm hole in the top of my case. Wonder if I can keep the metal filings from being sucked into my power supply by the fans or from falling on the mobo traces and shorting every thing out?!

Kidding - just kidding!

Thanks for the help.

Sounds good. Just be sure to post pics when you're done!

By "kidding", you mean you will take out all your components before doing the mod right? 😕

Sure, couldn't let anything happen to this system. I orded the # 7 - well see what happens when it comes in.

It's a plain old Antec beige case. I recently put a 3.06 GHz P4 with HT in the - draws 81Watts! Stays around 53-55C - I think a blowhole will help.

Hopefully in the end, it will look like a plain old Antec beige case with a blowhole.
