People were hungry back when there were no supermarkets and ristorantes to go to. Think Gilligans island and some goon chasing a crab along the shore with a club. Thor eat crab yum!
BTW, strawberry banana pudding need not look disgusting. And would taste pretty good. You just need to puree it more so there aren't chunks in there. Stick it in a glass and throw some cool whip on top, a whole strawberry on top of it all and it would look as good as it tastes.
