Just sitting at my desk, minding my own business, blwoing my nose and all of sudden I get tons of blood. Spent like 10 minutes with a tissue stuck up my nostril trying to stop it.

Are there any good remedies for a bloody nose?

tilt your head back, stand on one foot, put your left hand above your head, pinch your nose with your right, jump in circles humming the national anthem (if you pick the wrong country to live in and you sing that national anthem instead of the CORRECT one you will bleed out and die)

1) no more coke
2) go to the ENT you most likely have an vein really close to the suface inside your nose so when its dry it bleeds, they will burn it shut, i had to have it done

I pinch the bridge of the nose just above the ridge. That usually stems bloodflow.

Just apply pressure until bleeding stops. No head tilting as you will be swallowing the blood.

I've definitely had it happen. Nose and mouth are connected, so tilting my head back during a bleed made it start going down my throat, ugh, never again.

No tilting :) But if the pintching doesn't work for you, tissue is the only other solution short of cauterisation. I meant cauterisation through external means.

Tilt your head FORWARD and just wait it out.

Not much you can do outside of that. Maybe ice, but I think that would be more uncomfortable than it would help.

I tilt my head backwards all the time (blood drains down my throat, whatever... drinking blood is fun!) and I don't have any problems afterwards.

I had this issue due to dryness a couple of years back and the doctor told me to put a little Vaseline inside each nostril to prevent it. Felt a little weird, but it worked like a charm.

<insert Vaseline joke here>

it happens maybe twice a year so i don't thinks its any thing to worry about or anything. I just like to stop it quickly when it does happen.

Death is a pretty effective remedy for this malady. Just gotta watch out for the side effects.
