i'm reading conflicting things on what to do. after penning my cat up last week in a spare bedroom due to the advice of my vet so her leg could recuperate from an inujurty, she's taken a crap on the carpet four times (after letting her out.) I've moved the litter box back downstairs but for some reason she keeps pooping upstairs. tonight, i caught her in the act and noticed blood as well. some website i read say dont worry about it, other's say take them in. She is about 7 months, completely indoor cat, no other signs of depression or illness. fully up to date on shots/vaccines.

When a cat relieves itself outside the litter box, it's always a cause for concern. The fact you have blood only reinforces the cat needs to see a doc now!

Right on the nose. Get kitty to a vet.
