Blood alcohol question

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I figure it would be nice to get a highly technical reply to my question. Okay, so yesterday for some reason I thought to myself, if someone is legally intoxicated at, lets say at a BAC of 0.23 and that person had some of their blood taken out and put into another person, would the person receiving the blood be intoxicated after a short while? Thanks!

I would be more worrying about dying from all kinds of different haemolytic reactions than being drunk.

Yes. But not very much.

The alcohol tends to distribute into all the water in the body - of which the blood is only a small component. Alcohol is highly water soluble so tends to rapidly enter all lean tissue in the body.

So, if you drank a whole bottle of vodka (700 ml - approx one "fifth"), one pint of blood would contain about 1/2 a shot.

I'm no expert here, but you you would likely have to drain your victim or distill the spirit out of them and inject it in the other person. It's like saying -- if i have a pool and I put red dye in the pool that turn the pool completely blood red...and I take some of that water out and put it in another pool will that pool turn bloord red? ... well yes, to some extent the dye or the alchohol will disperse into the other vessel, but it will be much more diluted.

I would suspect that you could take a quarter of their blood out and get to say 0.06 but you would be better off just getting them really really drunk to say a .40 and when they are passed out and half dead, you can drink a few pints and get a good buzz....if that's what you are looking to do....
