Blocking blank popup tabs in Firefox

ColKurtz

I have Firefox 3.0.1 and the latest Adblock installed, but I still intermittently get popup tabs. The tabs are usually blank -- Adblock is doing it's job by blocking the content, but not preventing tabs from opening and stealing focus. A blank popup is just as annoying as one that is ad-infested.

One that consistently kicks up for me is going to m-w.com (Mirriam Webster dictionary) and doing a search. A blank popup will appear on my browser after performing a search (after getting the popup once, an hour or so much pass, or my cookies cleared, before I'll get another popup). Any ideas how to stop it?

TIA.

Thanks guys. I've been trying it out for a few days now. For a while I thought the constant NoScript control bar was going to be worse than the occasional popup, until I found the notification setting. Thanks again!
