I have 3 XP Pro machines on a router sharing a cable modem. I have them set up so that we can share files but I want to change that. One of the users never runs a virus scan on downloaded items and can't be trusted to do so. I don't want the other 2 machines to become infected. Can I set it up so I have access to that machine but that machine has no access to the other 2 machines?
TIA

What is to stop you from grabbing an embedded virus in a file off that machine?
You can set it up so that user cannot access your machine, but you can access his. Won't stop a virus though.

I scan for virus' before opening files and I keep the scanner updated. The other party doesn't do either.

Easy enough then. Put a user in each machine for the users on the trusted machines. Don't put a user in for the careless one.
Disable simple file sharing, and make it so users have to log in to their machines.
