Blocking 2.4GHz on Ad-hoc wireless Windows 8?

When running a hosted Ad-hoc wireless network using Windows 8 using a dual-band NIC, is it possible to block the 2.4GHz band entirely and operate exclusively on the 5GHz band? I don't want to accept 2.4GHz connections or even broadcast SSID over 2.4GHz. I didn't see any options to do this in Windows. Possible?

If possible, it would probably be a device specific driver setting. More info is needed, specifically the exact make & model of your NIC and computer.

It's an iMac 2010 (Core i3 550) running Windows 8 with a Atheros AR928X built-in wireless. There's no 5GHz only options in any of the tabs in the device manager.
