I use image blocking for particular sites in FF 3.5 since I use the forums at work (some work, some not), so I block images coming from "forums.ananadtech.com" to block avatars and other distracting images.

The problem is that with vB this blocks all Edit, Reply, and New Topic buttons. With FT I didn't have this problem.

Is there any way to change this on the server? For example: putting vB functional images at a path different from other images like avatars.

Or, (much more likely) should I just suck it up and either live with it or unblock the path?

Thanks!

You can disable emoticons in your profile, along with avatars and inline images. If this isn't good enough:

Avatars: /images/avatars/
Emoticons: /images/icons/
Emoticons: /images/smilies/
Buttons: /images/buttons/

Use something like AdBlock to filter out elements from the first 3 directories, and you'll be set.

There is an option in User panel to block sigs (which can contain images, if implemented), avatars, and inline images.
