'Blockbuster' storm heads east, could drop 40 inches of snow. Then an Arctic blast will freeze 200 million.

I WANT a polar vortex. Have not gotten to use the tractor with the snow blower or plow yet.
Polar vortex is what keeps the cold air locked up near the poles. When it weakens, the cold air moves down to lower latitudes.

there is a big system moving eastward. It will bring a fair amount of snow with it and It is supposed to hit us on Saturday.

The cold Arctic air is coming from us in Canada.

You're welcome.

It was so bad last night that I wore a long sleeve shirt while out on the boat catching snapper. Beautiful night. Flat seas and maybe dropped to 70 degrees. Fish weren't entirely cooperative though.

all we got is rain and we were supposed to get "arctic blast."

Shiva never showed up.

My hedgerow still suffered from the weight of last week's 10 inches, though. :(

Well shit, probably too late to ship you guys the big cans of freeze dried food that Wal-Mart has started selling. (Not sure if that's becoming common or because of all the right wing prepper people in Arizona.) There was one (its like a full meal) that I just laughed at as it didn't sound terribly appealing fresh (granted I'm sure its just flavoring with like a sludge or something that probably would look like oatmeal or grits. I kinda want to buy a can of freeze dried strawberries though.

I sleep with my window wide open. Last night i didn't need my mini-fridge and just kept my bag of milk on the windows sill near the head of my bed. saved me from getting up during the night. :) also a nice layer of snow was on me while I slept

Got about eight or so inches of snow. Looks like the freezing rain has stopped, but it's supposed to continue until late afternoon. I'll probably go out around noon to clear all the snow.

the snow has stopped but we are supposed to get snowsqualls later in the day.

The arctic air is here and it's -16C with a windchill of -27C.
