Anyone else here having troubles? I just joined last month and things were shipped very fast.. now nothing.

Apparently many people are having this issue.. somewhat glad its not just me, but it sucks for everyone involved.

Nothing is shipping from my queue, and I have at least 2 or 3 movies at all times that say AVAILABLE.

Lots of tales and threats to the BBB are being told here:

I like blockbuster over netflix for the simple fact that you can trade your movies back in at the store...

But thats no good when you don't get any movies delivered in the first place.

Most of the Bb vs. Netflix threads have Bb users admitting that Bb lies about stock status. People will large queues often get movies far below the top 5, even if those 5 are supposedly in stock.

So:
Bb - you'll get something if you keep your queue full enough, otherwise a big maybe
Netflix - honest about stock status, but will throttle your shipments if you watch too much.

and the selection at the stores is meager.

Blockbuster is better than netflix or any other place because you can return to the physical store and I also believe when you do that they give you another rental free for each movie returned or something nice like that.

Yes, they all ship movies fast to start with giving new customers priority over older customers and the service gets slower saving them money. Yep, this is done on purpose and even admitted too just google the issue. It took a long time before they admitted it but the complaints the the suspicious were overwhelming proving it if they admitted it or not. It is now simply the way it is and won't change. New customers don't know till they find out like yourself.

I think this is beyond just screwing people after the first month.. it sounds like people have been in it for a while are noticing a much larger period of no shipments. Unless this is the next level of screwing.
The selection in the stores is rough if you go Thursday - Sunday. Go on Tuesdays. I get any new release or recent release 99% of the time, since thats the day they come out.. then keep it through the weekend.

Not quite. Netflix treats you better or worse depending on how many movies you watch, not on how long you've been a member.

I've been a member since 2000 and still usually get new releases on the day they come out, because I only watch 2-3 movies a week instead of 4-5. They don't lose money on me, so they give me first pick.

I was actually a very happy and satisfied BB Online user until this past week (member for a couple of years now). I was getting movies regularly and all that. BB sent me emails on 3/1 saying they received three movies I sent back. It is now 3/7 and they have yet to ship anymore out.

I emailed customer service yesterday which promised a 2-3 hour response time and got a canned form response (with HTML errors in the form) today. I'm giving them a call tomorrow and going to try and get some money or something else out of them.

This is ridiculous.

Yeah, BB has started to suck recently. It seems like non of the movies I wanted were ever in available and the turnover has been slower than ever. I've since canceled my subscription since I don't want to pay upwards of $20 a month for this crap. If I had a Blockbuster store close to my house (not 20min away), I might've kept my subscription to take advantage of the in-store return.

I'm on the 1 out at a a time, 2 max per month program from $5.99 from BB.

This is an awesome deal for us who don't devour a lot of movies in a month.

Basically, 2 in the mail, return them in store, and get 2 more. Plus, you get one free coupon per month for a free movie or video game rental.

That's 4 movies, and usually 1 game for $5.99. 1 game rental by itself is what, around $7 or $8?

I've had both, but currently have BB. I have to admit they are actually coming pretty quick. I drop them in the mailbox at the post office at 5am (on way to work) and usually next day I get an email saying they got it already.

I've experienced what others have though: where you get stuff further down the queue, but I've also gotten movies at the top that said there was a short/long wait. Eh, go figure.

I'm ready to cancel!

In 3-months I managed to do 61 movies shipped to me and the same number from the actual Blockbuster store. I was able to turn new movies around 2-3X a week, now I'm lucky to get three in a week.

I get a shipping email and it arrives 3-days later. It was nice for the first 3-months to get 3 movies on one day as it makes returning them much easier, now they purposely ship them out so I rarely will get movies on the same day anymore.

I guess it was great while it lasted.:(

I've been quite pleased with BBO thus far. A lot of comments I've heard seem unreasonable, like "OMG, it takes longer than five seconds to get my next movie!" but others seem legit. I've only had problems a few times, if that, with "Available" titles getting skipped over.

Actually, I am on the three-at-a-time plan, but this past week they sent me four movies.:D

EDIT: For reference, I've been a member since October.
